Here's how to modify a free Alaska Airlines award flight.
Log in to AlaskaAir.com and access your Mileage Plan account.
To change a trip, click the "My Trips" tab and then choose it.
To begin the Changing process, locate the "Free Flight Change" button under the trip specifics and click it. You must go via them instead if you booked your flight through a third-party website like Expedia because you won't see this button there (more on that below).
Choose a another flight and pay the cost difference (if necessary). You'll probably be switching from a cheaper award flight to a more costly one, so be aware that there may be fees involved (though not the standard $125 price for award changes).
Your amended boarding pass can be printed out or emailed. All there is to it is that!
